VI The complexity of the ideas and language in the sixth stanza lends a baffling air to the verse. The first two lines "Icicles fill[ed] the long window with barbaric glass" is a very visual line, with images of looking out of an ice encrusted window, but it brings too the feeling of entrapment or encroachment.
